made on a 1440 × 900 display, using a chromium browser, and full website hosted on nekoweb. I have no idea how to check how my website looks on any other display size, so I just hope for the best that it doesn't look like shit to you

written in nekoweb editor and vscode. For minor edits I use nekoweb, but for larger edits I use vs code for live preview also because I'm often victim to nekoweb editor not saving consistently, I've found that even when I do save properly but keep the tab open and put my laptop to sleep for a longer period of time it reverts back?

95% of the code is written by me, while any javascript is written by someone from stack overflow/w3school (I try my best to credit them in my links page) with some minor alterations by me

designed using figma, and made a lot of assets also using figma or sometimes photopea

for hardware I'm using secondhand 2017 macbook air with mac os monterey

Side note, I've only found out that firefox and chromium browser have different css rendering like halfway through, so there might be inconcistencies between the two. That's what happen when you do things as you're learning.

it took me nearly a year to make this, I started all the way back in early june 2025 but scrapped it because I genuinely had no idea what I was doing and a lot of ideas that I had was beyond my skill level at the time, in the end I started again from 0 opted for a simpler design that I could make while I was learning from scratch. I’d say the website got decent around early february of 2026, because I procrastinated a lot and really struggled to even make a single page look how I want it to look.

I initially wanted to use hugo or eleventy to make my website but with the lack of skill and technology to support it I scrapped it for this. I was highly ambitious for someone who didn't even know the difference between position:absolute and position:relative

As I've mentioned, I totally learn coding from scratch without any prior knowledge. I spent weeks just to figure out how to center a div, because at the time I didn't know what keywords to use to even look it up. All that because I can't stand going through youtube videos explaining the basics, it was like trying to do multiplication when I don't even know additions.

Even so, I made this proudly with 0 ai. Having something I can actually be proud of is quite fulfilling, knowing that it’s written by my own efforts. Though my code is still a mess, at least it does what i need it to do. I hold it as my pride and joy, like frankenstein if he loved his monstrosity.

I hate coding, it makes me want to rip my hair out sometimes. But I hate not having my website done even more, and they do say the harder the battle, the sweeter the victory. I loath coding but my god the rush I get when I finally figure out what to do to get the affect I wanted is so good. I do still believe that compsci people is perhaps masochistic, because why do you enjoy suffering.

getting my blog terminated from tumblr is what compelled me to start making my own website, but what really motivated me is wanting to have my own space and not just having 10 different accound across various platforms. letterboxd for movies, goodreads for books, twitter for my shitpost thoughts, substack for essays, instagram for photos, backloggd for video games, you get what I mean. There are people out there who is living like this but I'm bad at upkeeping social media, all I'm good at is passive consumption rather than creating on social media.

At first I thought that tumblr might be just the one, I got into posting daily and writing there but then they terminated me. I thought that MAYBE, there must be at least one platform that could check all of my boxes. I really did try, there are tons of small and niche social media that's rather interesting but it didn't compel me to really create something.

Making your own website is really great at forcing you to start creating, because what are you going to do? Have it empty? and unlike social media, indie web isn't designed to capitalize on your attention span, I can't exactly doomscroll on nekoweb. So in the end I created this website, for all my shit in one place.

because I like arlecchino from genshin impact and I like coochies okay

sometimes I forgot that my url is that, but it's what I usually use as an username in social media
